Visit DuPont at METALCON booth #2004 to see the company’s newest building product solutions

On October 18-20, 2017, DuPont™ will exhibit at METALCON at the Las Vegas Convention Center and have live demonstrations in their booth by general contractor Walt Tomala, president of TNT General Contractors. Tomala will demonstrate Tyvek® Protec™ underlayments that are ideal for use as a secondary water barrier under metal roofs as well as under asphalt shingle, tile, cedar or shake roofs.

Demonstrations are scheduled every hour starting Wednesday, October 18 and Thursday, October 19 at 12:30 p.m. with the final demonstration being at 4:30 p.m. On Friday, October 20 demonstrations are set for 10:30 p.m., 11:30 p.m. and 12:30 p.m.

As a contractor, Tomala understands what is important in an underlayment product. He notes that the product is easy to carry onto the rooftop because the roll size is comfortable and the outside tack keeps it from slipping. Upon unrolling it, contractors will notice that everything is labeled on the roll with every fastening mark and overlap lines to ensure that installers are consistent in their installation.

Perhaps most important is the positive impact on installer safety that Tyvek® Protec™ underlayments provide. The underlayments feature a unique, embossed top sheet that helps with walkability - providing more grip with the surface.  Even when dealing with hazards like dirt or water on the roof, Tyvek® Protec™ minimizes concerns with safety issues, keeping areas that can become slick, safer to walk on.  Water simply beads up, rolls down the channel and right off the roof.
