Roofing Alliance - Roofing Alliance issues annual call for funding - canva
October 14, 2025 at 4:00 p.m.

The Roofing Alliance supports innovative projects from industry partners, academic institutions, nonprofit organizations and research firms.

The Roofing Alliance has issued its annual call for funding and is accepting applications for innovative research projects that align with its mission and are focused on one of three key areas: Workforce Development and Outreach; Robotics, AI and Technology Applications; and Construction Automation, Robotics and Visualization.

“We remain committed to supporting projects that close critical research gaps and spark real progress across the roofing industry,” said Alison L. LaValley, CAE, executive director of the Roofing Alliance. “While our core pillars — education, technology, sustainability and philanthropy — continue to guide our mission, this year we are especially focused on workforce development, robotics, technology and automation that can advance the overall industry.”

Proposals should refrain from using any proprietary products, services or materials or advocating an industry position or segment and instead contribute to the betterment of the U.S. roofing industry.

Application process: Please visit roofingalliance.net for detailed information.

Letters of Inquiry due November 1, 2025; full proposals due January 1, 2026

  • Step 1 – Letter of inquiry (due November 1, 2025): Applicants submit a brief overview of their proposed project. Selected applicants will be invited to move forward with a full proposal.
  • Step 2 – Full proposal (due January 1, 2026): Invited proposals should outline project goals, expected outcomes, budget and timeline, along with how the project benefits the roofing industry and aligns with the Alliance’s mission.
  • Step 3 – Review and selection: The Roofing Alliance Board of Trustees will review submissions in early 2026. Some applicants may be invited to present their proposals during the review process.

Key dates

  • Letter of inquiry deadline: November 1, 2025
  • Full proposal deadline: January 1, 2026

Funding decisions will be announced following the Board’s Spring 2026 meeting. For detailed guidelines and application materials, visit roofingalliance.net. Submit inquiries and proposals to: Alison L. LaValley, CAE, at alavalley@nrca.net.
