Experienced roofer, Todd Knight, answers questions about how he uses composite roofing products in his business.

Todd Knight, president of Dynasty Roofing Inc., has been involved in quality commercial and residential roofing projects for more than 25 years. Based in Fort Worth, Texas, his company is a DaVinci Masterpiece Contractor with hundreds of composite roofing projects completed throughout the Dallas and Fort Worth areas.

Q: How are composite roofing projects helping grow your business?

A: They offer a lightweight option for a high-end look. We find that the Lifetime Limited Material Warranty on the DaVinci products is an attractive selling feature to potential homeowners that helps close the sale.

Q: How long has your company been installing DaVinci products?

A: For 15 years now … so more than half the time we’ve had our company.

Q: What makes your company recommend DaVinci products over competitive composite products?

A: We find that DaVinci has the most authentic slate and shake profiles on the market. And, from our experiences their products hold up better than any of their competitor’s products. 

Q: How have DaVinci products helped increase sales for your company?

A: The quality of the DaVinci product line, at an affordable price, makes it very appealing to our customers. The company offers stunningly realistic slate and wood shake looks on their tiles. These tiles also have both Class A Fire and Class 4 Impact Resistant ratings. These all add up to products have added to the bottom line for our company.

Q: When selling DaVinci products to a new customer, what are the features and benefits that customers react best to?

A: Two things. The durability of the composite product and the extremely authentic appearance of the slate and shake tiles.

Q: What’s your “secret weapon” in a sales presentation for convincing a customer to invest in composite roofing?

A: Easy. I simply ask my customer, “What if I could give you the look of true slate for a fraction of the cost … what would you say?”

Q: Finally, if you absolutely had to change professions tomorrow, what do you think you’d do?

A: Even easier. I’d want to become a caddie at the Pebble Beach Golf Links!
