Roofer Profile: Paul Munoz – Accurate Roofing Tulsa

Roofer Profile: Paul Munoz – Accurate Roofing Tulsa
July 30, 2026 at 12:00 p.m.

By Rocky Mountain Snow Guards.

Paul Munoz and his Tulsa-based team found their niche, roofing homes in the Vail Valley.

In 2020 a customer asked Tulsa roofer Paul Munoz if he would roof his home in Edwards, Colorado. With the theory “anything for our customer,” Paul and his team traveled 11 hours to Colorado. He ended up roofing 4 custom homes. The next year he returned and did 6 homes during the season, after that 9, then 11. Now he and his crew spends June 1 to September 1 in Vail Valley roofing at least 12 homes each year.

The strictly word-of-mouth growth of his business, Accurate Roofing, splits Paul’s time between Oklahoma and Colorado. Learn more about this seasoned roofer and how he’s adapted to grow his business.

Q: How did you get involved originally in the roofing industry?

A: I come from a family of roofers dating back to the early 1970s. I started Accurate Roofing on my own in 1997, so we’re coming up on our 30th anniversary.

Q: You’ve been a customer of Rocky Mountain Snow Guards since 2020, which is when you did your first Colorado project. Why do you keep returning to them?

A: They’re by far the best on all levels. Customer service is always wonderful. I’ve visited their warehouse location for immediate needs a few times and was completely accommodated. In a pinch we’ve tried another brand. We simply didn’t like it and returned quickly to Rocky Mountain Snow Guards

Q: Do you use the layout and design services available from Rocky Mountain Snow Guards?

A: In the beginning years we relied on Rocky Mountain Snow Guards for the free layout and design for our projects. Now that we understand the concept, we implement the same principle on each house. That being said, we still appeal to the company on specialty situations to assure we’re making the best decisions for the homeowners.

Q: What type of roofing are you installing mostly in the Vail Valley during your seasonal work?

A: We are exclusively replacing real wood shake shingles with DaVinci® Roofscapes composite shake products --- mostly the DaVinci Select Shake products. Synthetic products are “slicker,” so they need snow retention systems. We average about 600 to 800 snow guards per roof. That means we’re installing more than 8,000 snow guards per season!

Q: Which is your “go to” product for your snow retention needs?

A: Hands down it’s the Everest Guard. These are conveniently packaged together in groups, so they’re easier to bring up to the roof and handle. We like to give the snow guards a slight downward bend before installing. This helps create a snug fit. Being grouped together, this allows us to bend several at a time. The design of the Everest Guard 16 is extremely efficient, and efficiency is always positive.

Q: Do you also use snow guards in the Tulsa area?

A: Yes. It’s a different market here. While the functionality is still paramount, there’s more of a desire for matching them to the architectural features of the home. That’s why we’re pleased that Rocky Mountain Snow Guards also offers copper snow guards. We have more customers here that request that accent feature for their snow retention system.
