Learn how composite roofing helps roofing professionals like Kristin Wellwood better serve their customers.

With nearly a decade of experience in the roofing industry, Kristin Wellwood has built a career rooted in expertise, dedication and results. As an account executive at Allcon Roofing, she plays a key role in delivering high-quality roofing solutions that make a lasting impact. Kristin’s passion for excellence and her commitment to seeing every project completed the right way are what drive her success each day.

Kristin thrives in a role that offers variety and opportunity. As a business development representative, she specializes in selling premium roofing re-roofs, including specialty products such as composite roofing from DaVinci Roofscapes. Her deep product knowledge and consultative approach allow her to help clients select roofing solutions that combine durability, performance and curb appeal.

Kristin’s work is supported by the strength and reach of Allcon Roofing. Headquartered in Piedmont, South Carolina, Allcon Roofing serves the Carolinas, Georgia, Virginia, Tennessee, Florida and Texas. Since 2007, the company has built a reputation for providing dedicated, honest and reliable roofing services for both residential and commercial projects, as well as expert storm damage restoration.

What makes Allcon Roofing stand out in the marketplace?

We are committed to doing things the right way — every time. At Allcon Roofing we consistently go above and beyond for our clients, focusing on quality workmanship, attention to detail and clear communication from start to finish. Every roof we install is completed per manufacturer specifications to ensure long-term performance and durability. Our clients know us for delivering reliable roofing systems paired with exceptional customer service, whether it’s a large commercial project or a custom residential home.

What are composite roofing projects doing for your business?

Composite roofing projects have been a major growth driver for our business. Homeowners and builders are increasingly looking for products that deliver the beauty of natural materials without the structural limitations of traditional heavy slate or deteriorating cedar shakes.

The lightweight nature of composite roofing makes it easier to install, compatible with a wider range of homes and more cost-effective overall, while still offering superior durability and low maintenance. This allows us to provide a premium roofing solution that performs well across different climates and design styles. These projects consistently lead to higher customer satisfaction, strong referrals and repeat business, helping us expand our residential and high-end project portfolio.

About how long has your company been installing DaVinci products?

Since 2010, giving us almost two decades of hands-on experience with composite roofing systems.

What makes your company recommend DaVinci products over competitive composite products?

At Allcon Roofing we recommend DaVinci products because they are the longest tried-and-tested synthetic roofing option on the market, with a proven track record of performance and reliability. DaVinci consistently delivers on both aesthetics and durability — the craftsmanship and realistic appearance closely replicate natural materials, without the drawbacks.

DaVinci products are engineered to withstand harsh weather conditions while maintaining their beauty over time, giving homeowners long-term confidence in their investment. Additionally, DaVinci’s extensive testing, commitment to quality and strong product support align perfectly with our own standards as a contractor, making them a trusted choice over other composite products.

What’s one of your favorite DaVinci projects that your company has done and why?

Easily it’s a home we completed last year featuring a DaVinci Province Slate roof system. The finished roof was stunning! The slate profile and Slate Gray color variation added incredible depth and sophistication to the home. It perfectly complemented the architecture while delivering the durability and performance DaVinci is known for. This project is a great example of how composite roofing can elevate curb appeal while providing long-term peace of mind for the homeowner.

Some roofers say that sample tiles close the sale. Why do you think this happens?

Physical samples play a huge role in our sales process. Nearly all our clients want to see and touch the product before making a final decision and in many cases we’ll even install sample tiles directly on their home so they can see the product in real-world conditions.

Once homeowners experience DaVinci samples on their own roof, it often seals the deal. The samples allow them to truly appreciate the texture, color depth and realism of the product — things photos or brochures simply can’t capture. Seeing the true beauty and quality firsthand gives them confidence not only in the product, but also in their investment and in our recommendation, before they ever sign a contract.

How have you been able to get composite products accepted into an HOA community?

The Allcon Roofing team works closely with clients by providing detailed product information, physical samples and real-world examples of completed installations. Educating clients on the long-term benefits — such as durability, fire resistance and visual consistency — all helps address concerns early in the approval process.

In several cases, our clients have successfully obtained HOA approval once decision-makers can see how well composite products replicate traditional materials while offering improved performance. And, there’s also the consideration that DaVinci composite products with Class A fire and Class 4 impact ratings often means reduced homeowner insurance rates, which many HOAs appreciate!
