Remembering Rory C. Davis

in memoriam - rory c. davis - rca of southern california
October 13, 2023 at 1:00 p.m.

It is with great sadness that we share the loss of Rory C. Davis.

The Southern California Roofing Contractors Association would like to share the below reflections from Harry El-Kara with JB Wholesale about Rory. We believe Harry’s words speak for all of us who knew Rory.

Rory,

Such a gentlemanly, thoughtful and compassionate person.  The first time I met Rory, without a doubt, I felt from the first few moments how special of a person he was.  Most people wouldn't have the time or the energy to entertain someone as Rory did to me, even though he knew it wouldn't be feasible to use the products and services I presented to him then.

Rory was thoughtful; he took pride in his work and always delivered above-standard work with details that anyone could be impressed with and appreciate the engineering and artistry he presented and produced.  Rory came through in every situation for the betterment of all parties involved, and I never saw him lose his cool or show any frustration.  More importantly than that, Rory was gentle with a kind heart that respected everyone no matter their background or their situation. He was keen and observant and never let anyone feel down.  He could lift people's spirits around him and make them feel special. He would go out of his way to remember special events and always made time to recognize them on every occasion.  I have heard numerous stories about him and how he helped individuals, especially when they were down, by allowing them to excel, which changed their lives forever.

Rory was great with his family and with his colleagues the same.  His son was more like his friend than a father to him.  He was so proud of his father and family.  He was more of a brother to me than a friend or a customer.  I am sure everyone around him felt the same way.  He had an engineering mind, a large, compassionate heart, and a soul that allowed him to touch us all extraordinarily.

Rory, my friend, my brother, you will always be in my heart and thoughts.  I am so lucky to have met you and had the chance to interact with you.  You are, without a doubt, the closest thing I know to be a perfect person we can all look up to and try to emulate your kindness and delicate gentleness.

May God bless you and your family.

The Southern California Roofing Contractors Association sends our thoughts and deepest condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Rory at this time.
