Raising Money and Racing for a Good Cause

In a recent podcast with Rich Thompson, we learned about ABC Supply’s partnership with veteran organization, Homes For Our Troops.

Not only does ABC Supply distribute high-quality roofing materials, but they also work with Homes For Our Troops, a nonprofit organization that donates homes to post-9/11 Veterans. For the entire month of May, ABC Supply is matching donations of up to $1 million to the organization. In a recent podcast, we got to speak with their Director of Marketing, Rich Thompson, about this fundraiser as well as their Indy 500 sponsored car.

ABC Supply held this fundraiser last year as well, but for a shorter period of time. In our podcast, Rich states that they had actually received $1.2 million in private donations for Homes For Our Troops, meaning they ended up donating $2.2 million after they matched those donations.

“It was an incredible outpouring. I was so proud of our team for really getting out there and pushing it,” Rich said. “It was very, very emotional for us because we love Homes For Our Troops. They have such an incredible cause.”

This year, the company is also sponsoring an Indy 500 car which they are dedicating to Homes For Our Troops. The car is owned by AJ Foyt and will be driven by Santino Ferrucci. Rich says that ABC Supply is proud to highlight Homes For Our Troops with this car and they hope this fundraiser and race gets the word out about their amazing cause.

“Homes For Our Troops is a nonprofit... They build custom homes for veterans that are amputee, double amputee, severe burn victims from post 9/11 events,” Rich said. “They want to give as many of the dollars that they raise directly to rebuilding or building these homes. So we're going to do our part.”
