Profile: Polyglass’ Premium Roof System for North Dade Regional Library

The project features Polyglass three-ply modified bitumen roof system over polyisocyanurate insulation.

Polyglass’ premium roof system was the ideal choice for the Internal Services Department at Miami-Dade County. The County continues to rely on Polyglass’ high performing, self-adhered APP and SBS roof systems to meet code and energy efficiency requirements.

For the North Dade Regional Library in Miami Gardens, FL the County decided on the Polyglass three-ply modified bitumen roof system over polyisocyanurate insulation. Roofing contractor Florida Building & Supply installed 58,000 sq. ft. of Elastoflex® SA V self-adhered SBS base sheet, Polyflex® Smooth mid-ply and Polyfresko® G SA highly reflective, self-adhered cap sheet. Polyfresko G SA was used as the flashing up and over the top of the parapet wall followed by a coping detail.

Roof System Benefits:

• The three-ply system provides a dependable solution with multiple layers for redundancy.
• Polyflex and Polyfresko G SA are polyester reinforced APP membranes, providing additional tear strength and puncture resistance to the roof system.
