By Evelyn Witterholt, RCS Reporter.

In his series on small businesses, Matthew McConaughey speaks with Omega Roofing’s owner about how he built his business from the ground up.

When he isn’t acting in award-winning films, Matthew McConaughey has been shining a spotlight on small businesses in his video series Grit & Greenlights. Recently he spoke with Zachary Sayles, owner of Idaho-based Omega Roofing, about his small roofing business and his future plans for it. Omega Roofing has found great success in a short amount of time and has even become a PABCO Preferred Contractor.

Zachary told Matthew about how his roots have always been in roofing. His father was a roofer himself and Zachary was exposed to the business as young as five-years-old. A few years ago, Zachary and his business partner Dylan Winmill met with a Utah-based roofing company who wanted to set up shop in Idaho. But when the pandemic hit, the company wanted them to move to Utah to work for them there.

Since both had children on the way, Zachary and Dylan did not want to uproot their entire lives in this way. So they decided to “bet on themselves” and start their own roofing company. Although this was a big risk, Zachary says he’s always considered himself to be risk-oriented so long as there’s a great chance of return.

Today, Omega Roofing has seen tremendous growth. Since they’ve started, Zachary says they’ve been working back-to-back roofing jobs. He told Matthew that his main goal for the company is to become the biggest roofing contractor in Idaho. When relaying this to his team, he says they should keep in mind that, “It’s not where we’re at now, but where we’re going to be in the next five or ten years.”

We wish success for Omega Roofing's continuous growth and we can’t wait to see what the future brings for them!
