Milwaukee Apex General Contracting provides free roof replacement for 94-year-old Korean War veteran

This roof replacement is part of Apex’s broader mission to give back to veterans and strengthen the communities it serves.

Apex General Contracting, just outside of Milwaukee, is proud to announce its commitment to supporting local veterans through a recent project providing a free roof replacement for 94-year-old Korean War veteran Chester Hopper.

Chester Hopper, a longtime member of Hephatha Lutheran Church in Milwaukee, was recently identified as being in urgent need of home repairs. Determined to help, the church reached out to Mark Finnegan of VetsRoll, a well-known advocate for veterans. Finnegan reached out to Apex General Contracting and connected with Jim Stringham and Roger Turner. After assessing the extent of the damage, Apex committed to completing a full roof replacement at no cost.

“Meeting Chester was truly inspiring,” said Roger Turner. “At 94 years old, he remains sharp, proud and deeply connected to the veteran community in Milwaukee. It was a privilege to spend time with him, hear his stories and learn more about a life dedicated to serving both God and country.”
