Miles Roofing is June R-Club Roofer of Month

The key to longevity with Miles Roofing lies in strong values and good stewardship of the Earth.

Miles Roofing repairs, re-roofs and installs new commercial and residential roofs. They work across the entire commonwealth of Virginia and the North-Eastern part of North Carolina with their corporate offices located in Chesapeake, Virgnia.  

Sherri Miles-Foley, the president of Miles Roofing, represents the fourth generation of Miles leadership, and she recently spoke with us about the key to building such a strong company legacy. 

“My great-grandfather started our companies in 1910, so we just celebrated 112 years, if I do the math right,” says Sherri. "It's really cool, especially because we've been around for so long, a lot of people, we put their roofs on. My great grandfather put their roofs on nearly a hundred years ago, and they've lasted, these traditional materials, the slate and the metal last, multiple lifetimes.” 

Part of what makes Miles Roofing four generations strong is a commitment to their mission and values. “We're huge believers in values-based leadership, and so we celebrate our core values every day. We hire to those, we celebrate to those, we have meetings, are geared around those,” says Sherri.  “Our four core values are safety, quality, family and leadership.” 

In addition to a dedication to longevity, Miles Roofing is committed to being a good steward of this planet and actively seeks technologies that are greener. “We are big proponents of rooftop solar,” says Sherri. “Something interesting about us is that we're looking at technology, and trying to make a difference in our environment, being good stewards of the environment.”
