Future focus: New tools and stronger customer focus

Future focus: New tools and stronger customer focus
August 21, 2025 at 9:00 a.m.

By Jesse Sanchez.

This industry mainstay is pushing forward with fresh ideas and a renewed focus on what users need most.

Software veteran Dataforma continues to prove that after 22 years, evolution is still its game. Founded in 2004, the project management platform tailored for contractors is making waves  with a suite of new features that blend task automation and real-time field estimating. At the International Roofing Expo (IRE) 2025 trade show, Daryl Maronic of Dataforma shared, “I started Dataforma back in 2004 and this is our 22nd year being at the trade show. We’re always excited to be here.”

What’s next, according to Daryl, is a sharper focus on workflow efficiency. The company is rolling out a task planner that notifies users when specific job-site milestones are completed. Another key development on the horizon is an in-app estimating feature that enables contractors to generate, sign and approve service estimates on-site. The new estimating tool is aimed squarely at helping roofing and service contractors streamline their quoting process, especially while working in the field.

Contractors are often looking for tools that can help expand their service operations, in addition to software that supports the strategies and skills they pick up in educational sessions at trade shows. From timekeeping and field reports to full-scale project management, Dataforma is leaning into customization and practical integration.

While new leads are always welcome, the company is just as focused on deepening relationships with its current users. For them, feedback isn’t just appreciated; it plays a key role in shaping future updates and functionality. “For us, working with our existing customers and showing them some of that new functionality, but also getting the feedback from them, is really important,” Daryl said. “It’s important for us to expand the usage of how they’re using the system.”

“The demand’s always there, we’re always building,” Daryl said. “And we’re there to answer their questions.” For Dataforma, that momentum never stops, there’s always something new in the works.
