Data clarity brings order to roofing operations

Data clarity brings order to roofing operations
May 10, 2026 at 6:00 p.m.

By Jesse Sanchez.

Helping contractors untangle complexity by aligning data strategy, workflows and human experience into a roadmap built for long-term growth.

In a roofing industry shaped by growing complexity and tighter operational demands, Tyelus is reframing how contractors think about data. Rather than treating information as an abstract technical challenge, the firm positions it as a practical driver of clarity, efficiency and stability. That approach was the focus on this episode of Roofing Road Trips®, where host Karen Edwards spoke with Lynsey Hall, founder of Tyelus, about why data frustrations persist across roofing businesses and how a people-first strategy can change that trajectory.

Lynsey’s perspective is grounded in more than a decade of direct roofing industry experience, along with years working alongside manufacturers and contractors. Over time, he observed a consistent breakdown. The same terms were used to describe different processes, systems rarely spoke to one another and technology adoption often stalled before it delivered real value. “Using the same word for so many different things and just seeing that technology really had never made its way in,” Lynsey explained.

Tyelus approaches these challenges through what it calls strategic process architecture. Instead of prescribing a single platform or tool, the firm starts by mapping reality. Leadership teams are asked to share current pain points alongside long-term ambitions, including aspirational ideas that may feel out of reach. That broad input helps shape a roadmap designed to evolve with the business rather than constrain it.

A defining element of the process is worker involvement. Data is created by people in the field and office, not dashboards. “We put them all together in a human focused way,” Lynsey said. “So we talk to your workers. We make sure that your workers understand what we’re doing is to help them be more efficient and more valuable.” That transparency, he explained, helps reduce resistance to change while improving both accuracy and long-term adoption.

That mindset also extends to technology spend. Many contractors already own capable tools but only use a fraction of their functionality. “We can automate and integrate the solutions you already own and pay for,” Lynsey said, reframing optimization as a smarter alternative to constant replacement.

Change remains difficult, particularly for teams fatigued by failed rollouts. Tyelus addresses that reality by slowing down, listening and designing systems that reflect how work actually happens. As Lynsey puts it, “When I say strategic process architecture, it’s not just data and software, it’s people too.”
