Celebrating excellence at the 2024 Best of IBS awards

The 2024 Best of IBS™ Awards have concluded, revealing the latest innovations in the building industry, with CertainTeed LLC’s Solstice Shingle taking home the Best in Show award.  

Announced at the NAHB International Builders’ Show® (IBS) in Las Vegas, this product stood out for its functionality and design, offering a low-profile solar shingle that integrates with traditional asphalt shingles. The judges praised the Solstice Shingle for its high photovoltaic electrical conversion, 25-year warranty, wind zone versatility and Class 3 impact resistance rating. They shared, “Solstice Shingle by CertainTeed LLC won the Best in Show award because this low-profile solar shingle seamlessly integrates with traditional asphalt shingles while delivering very high photovoltaic electrical conversion... The judges felt that this solar shingle marks a significant advancement in aesthetics, durability and efficiency.” 

This year's Builders’ Show spotlighted exceptional building products and services across nine categories, emphasizing the industry's push toward innovation and sustainability. Brandon Salisbury, an architect at Craig Sharp Homes, expressed his admiration for the finalists. “I was very impressed with all of the finalists I spoke with at the show this year. All products were new, innovative and industry leading ideas that I know will transform their industries,” Brandon says. 

In addition to the Solstice Shingle, other notable winners included TraceAir for Best Business Solution Software and the MB-79N Window with Infratherm Technology by BERTRAND Windows & Doors for Best Home Technology Product. The awards also recognized JascoPro Series SmartCycle Lighting by Jasco Products for Best Indoor Product and Empervious by Emser Tile for Best Kitchen & Bath Product. 

The Best of IBS Awards is a testament to the building industry’s commitment to advancing home construction and design. As Salisbury noted, the excitement and knowledge displayed this year underscores the passion driving these innovations forward.
