Bend it like Malco

Bend it like Malco
June 15, 2025 at 6:00 a.m.

By Anna Lockhart.

Explore the product offerings of an industry-leading brand and find out how they’re revolutionizing the metal fabrication game.

In an episode of Roofing Road Trips®, host Heidi J. Ellsworth sat down with Shane Norman, senior product manager at Malco Tools, to discuss the glories of all things metal benders. In an age where metal roofing and siding are the rage and building owners can’t get enough, it’s critical to have the best tools on hand when working with metal building materials. And as Shane notes, having a quality pair of Malco metal benders on hand is one of the best additions you can make to your toolbox.

With a product offering consisting primarily of roofing, siding and gutter tools, Malco has quickly become a go-to name over the years for contractors looking to amp up their tool kits for maximum precision, durability and efficiency. Shane shared, “Metal benders, in general, are a line of products that you can use to make field installed bends on tram. You can use them for a lot of different intricate work that you're going to need to do on site.”

With on-site metal work being an often-required facet of the job for some metal professionals, having benders suited with transportation features is top of mind, making these metal benders from Malco a quality find. “With the portable bender, you can fabricate some of these pieces of work on site,” he explained. “So that really helps the contractors stand apart from some of their other competitors because now instead of having multiple pieces of trim installed that had to be joined. Now, you could actually make a 20, 30, 40-foot piece of trim if you need to on site as long as you have the right color coil in your truck.”

Eliminating the hassle of transporting to and from a designated metal fabrication shop, these portable benders give contractors their time and energy back to be placed elsewhere. Though, for those who aren’t deadset on investing in portable options, Malco also offers a range of quality station benders and disc benders.

No matter your need in the field or in the shop, as Shane explained, Malco Tools has a bender ready to go and capable of fitting your needs, wherever you are.
