Air Force Veteran Gifted New Roof

RCS US Air Force Veteran
January 1, 2023 at 12:00 p.m.

By Alec Doniger.

Westfall Roofing shows respect for our veterans by gifting a new roof.

Robert Gruber is an Air Force veteran. He has made significant sacrifices for the citizens of this country. He cares about the wellbeing and safety of his people, and he served selflessly for this reason. After applying for a new roof through Purple Heart Homes, he was selected for a much-needed roof replacement.

The replacement was made possible by Owens Corning. The Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project has donated over 375 roofs to veteran families across the United States. The effort has been going strong since 2016. They partner with a variety of charity organizations including Habitat for Humanity, Support Our Troops®, and, in this case, Purple Heart Homes. Owens Corning has always been generous to veterans – they recognize the weight of military sacrifice. The purpose of this project is to express gratitude to those who have served and ask for nothing in return.

Westfall Roofing provided the labor. Owens Corning donated the materials and Purple Heart Homes gave the green light. Robert could not have been more thrilled. His gratitude is visible and strongly felt. In the same way he is grateful for the safety afforded to him because of his new roof, we are grateful for the safety he has helped maintain in our country.

Robert is not the only Tampa veteran to have received a new roof in honor of his service. Robert Nelson, a fellow veteran, also received a new roof this year in Tampa. A new roof can make the difference between a cold, wet winter and a safe, happy one.

Do you know of someone in the industry who is ‘doing good deeds’ in their community? Help us catch them at it. Send news and information to info@rooferscoffeeshop.com.
