A call for the best! Submit your Colorado roofing project for consideration today

CRA Awards Table
November 11, 2023 at 3:00 p.m.

By Dani Sheehan.

Don’t miss your chance to submit a project for the Job of the Year award at CRA’s annual awards dinner. Showcase your professionalism and expertise in the industry and celebrate the outstanding work with the community.

The Colorado Roofing Association (CRA) is hosting their 23rd annual awards dinner February 22, 2024, and they are still accepting nominations for their Job of the Year award! Each year they showcase some of the incredible jobs and outstanding work of their members. The submission deadline for this year is Monday, December 4, 2023, so start your application today!

After providing the usual contract size, square footage and general project information on the application, you’ll need to provide a summary that outlines the roofing system used, starting with the deck and working your way up. Make sure to include information on the safety considerations you took and how they affected the execution, cost and timeliness of the project. Finally, were there any job conditions or site restrictions that you faced during the project to set it apart from others? This might include access issues, budget constraints, challenging weather conditions or any other unusual circumstances that may have been a consideration. And don’t forget to include pictures with the application! They recommend a combination of distance and close shots, as well as an aerial view of the finished project.

Wondering how to make your application stand out? Consider following these tips:

  • Stay on point and be concise: Make sure you actually answer each question. In most cases, bullet points can be an effective way to highlight your key points and improve the readability of your submission.
  • Photos: You’ll get the best pictures if you are able to shoot early in the morning or late in the afternoon when the sun’s light comes in at more of an angle. It’s also helpful to let your photos show the story rather than relying on your description. Try to depict various stages of construction and the innovation involved. Make sure you look for safety violations or lack of safety before submitting also, as this is a key component of the judging criteria.
  • Quantify your results: Use real numbers to help you tell the story and get information from your employees or others on the job to ensure you can share the full picture of the project from start to finish.

Review the full submission guidelines in the application and find additional tips to highlight your project for consideration. Make sure to save the date for this incredible evening of recognition, networking and more!
