It’s time for a Western States Roofing Contractors Association (WSRCA) board member highlight! Meet Stan Robinson, he’s a third-generation Lake Oswego, Oregon resident (his grandfather even has a point on the lake named after him). He got his start in the roofing world after graduating high school at Empire Pacific Industries, a leader in roofing products. Then, just three years after graduation, he co-launched Pacific West Roofing with Ben Jarvis!
When it came time to try and describe Stan for this profile, our first thought was “all-around roofing technology geek.” With over 45 years of experience in the industry, Stan gets giddy over new roofing technology and techniques. Just simply ask him how many vents you need on a roof and sit back for a lesson in thermal currents, condensation and air flow! Beyond just being a geek for everything roofing, Stan is dedicated to his customers. That lesson on vents isn’t just to share his passion, it’s to help you understand your roof and make educated, well-informed decisions about it. In Stan's spare time, you'll find him hanging out in his home shop, building tables and cabinets and other wood furniture. His wife knows once he heads to the shop, she won't see him for another 12 hours or so.
Stan has been on the WSRCA Board since 2014. He loves the collaboration with the board members and staff, staying abreast of the technical and safety aspects of the industry and serving new Board members to help them navigate their inaugural year.
Bringing his knowledge and experience from Western States to his local association to help other roofers is a tremendous source of satisfaction. He is proud to serve as a board member of the WSRCA because he is so proud of what Western States has accomplished.
