Hey there guys. Somewhat new to this forum. I'm Skipper. I work for Gulf Coast Roofing and Remodeling out of southern MS. Just began a couple of weeks ago, as the company is still in its early stages. I work as a secretary at the moment, transcribing claims into estimates, moving toward Office Manager. I was wondering if perhaps someone here could give me tips on using Xactimate. Haven't really gotten the hang of it yet.
You can learn on line some of the basics. I talk to many field adjusters and involve myself in the discussion groups we occasionally have. I've used the program sparingly. My job with the Catastrophe team is bringing the office to the site. Deploying the satellites working the IT equipment and all the mechanics involved. That is the basic job I do with the Catastrophe Team. I'm also marketing the product.
OLE Willie Said: Is there a CIAK in the house? Now if I need some good information..... Brother I know how and where to get it and how to use it. There are much smarter people than me in this business and I'm glad we are friends almost family. Life is good B) :) :) B) Deep Down In Florida Where The Sun Shines Damn Near Every Day
I have been using Xactimate since 2000, what is the purpose that you are using it, if you are working the Insurance Cat market you can use it to get a rough estimate before the claims people come in, I found it keeps the insurers honest lol However as you know or will find out that the adjusters, can and do adjust the set figurers by xactimate all you can do is show them that you understand the software and won't take and muniplation of the estimate on their part, let it be known that most of the new injusters even some old ones do not understand the construction industry and the methods of construction, they simply go off the software sheet but as you know that there are many variable in the put together of the project do they take a simple truck breakdown in to consideration or any other basic problems that may occur, Florida is the only state that I know of where the software program of Xactimate is honored right to the letter lol I have had problems with the estimating department of xactimate in the way that they prepare their pricing not always were they correct They have made remarks to me that shook my being lol when they mention that I have to add my scrap materials to the profit that blew my mind, but looky here if you want some real details or any other info, email me Thanks BTW you will do fine as long as you become friendly with the adjusters lol
