Working in Kansas or Missouri

I know you guys hate these questions but I just have to ask. I have had about 3 or 4 local contractors tell me they are heading out West to get some work. I have talked to a couple of my suppliers and they tell me the locals in Kansas and Missouri are doing a good job of keeping the stormers at bay, by doing co-op advertising.

I am just curious how it is looking for you local guys in the areas that got hammered. Can you get the work done, in a timely manner, without outside help? I am just wondering if the local companies are hiring outside people to work for them or if they rely on the local work force?

I have told my local guys I think they could do better by going out and working for a local company, instead of going in as outsiders and trying to sell to the locals and cutting out the local contractors. Seems as if there should be enough for everyone.....and everyone be happy.

Well enough rambling for me. Just thought I would get a feel for what it is like that way.....I have about 2 more weeks of work here then it is deer season.....but I could put off deer season if I could go make some money.

They have been getting hammered. I plan on going over to Blue Springs in the next week or so to see for myself.

What is the weather like in Kansas City of a winter time? I would think like Indiana weather........

I don't know my Uncle has been in Missouri for a full year now and has had no luck landing any roofing work. He's roofed full time in MN for 25 years.

Trying to lure him back up here to help me get all my jobs done by Winter.

What areas of Missouri are in need of roofers?
