Man, they are killing us here in Texas. Material pricing went up today and freakin Exactimate went down. WTH is that all about. Just no money in these roofs anymore. I may buy a boat and start fishing!!!
From another forum "Reference: Xactware publishes prices as close to the mid-point of the market as possible. As a result, generally half of the providers in each market will be priced higher, and half lower than the cost shown here. Due to the structure at which different roofing companies operate (traditional sub-contractors vs. roofing sales organizations) roofing costs quoted by local providers can cover a very broad / large range of prices."
Like I've said before, you put YOUR prices into the program. You can't bid other peoples' prices and remain in business.
Hundred bucks a sq for materials and 85 for tear off and put down...whats the problem? Here the labor'll go for $55 sq.
If you don't like the prices, don't use Xactimate for your proposals. Can it be any simpler than that?
Or, just add a surcharge.
Plug your prices into it. Who's bidding? You, or the adjuster? If it's the adjuster, tell him to bid it so and install it so, while you go elsewhere and get your price.
