Search for roofing material

Hope you are fine
I plan to change my old roofing with the latest design roof. I aim to make the house more attractive to attract visitors and start a small homestay. I have seen many houses use slate roofing on their rooftops to make the home more heritage. I think the long-lasting capability of the slate lasts for almost ten years. What do you guys thinking about installing a slate roof?
If anyone here had any experience with installing such slate roofs, please share your tips and suggestions.
