If you are getting into the residential section, be prepare for some intense competition. There are a lot of roofers buying for the same market! $35.00 per square just to install is a fare price,(however this WILL vary from area to area), We are paying from $65.00/sq to $100.00/sq. for tear offs and reshingle jobs here. Now if you where interested in a Network marking Company to look into I suggest Conklin , I know that there are some guys on this forum who's eyes just rolled back in their heads, but Conklin is a serious company with a positive track record. Conklin Roof Coatings are mostly for commercial and low sloped buildings. The roof coatings industry is the fastest growing section in the roofing business today! Just look at all the chatter about the GREEN roofs and sustainable roof systems, black roofs are on their way out as more and more business see the advantages of coatings. I've been involved with Conklin for 5 years now and have enjoyed a 35-45% profit margins on most of the roofs we coat, it is hard to make that margin of profit with shingles, I know I have shingled since 1976, believe this I started shingle at $4.50/sq.! Been a while. http://www.rooferscoffeeshop.com/rcs/users/elmo/
