Question on flat roof......

I have a roof that just needs a small patch about 24" x 12". The problem is I dont think this roof is EPDM rubber, so therefore I dont know if I can use the same materials I use to patch rubber roofs.

This roof is a 2/12, probably 35-40 years old....bu>>>

when you said the "roof" was 35-40 years old did you mean the roof or the house? Because if you meant the house, then you have a 15-20, maybe 25 year old shingled roof, covered by the newer product which would be 10-20 years old. I still put my money o>>>

Sorry I havnt replied quicker. I will try to get a picture. Man......I just dont know very much about flat roofs. This roof dont look like a torch down....because I dont see where it has leaked out at edges...and when I look under the laps that are loose,>>>

Could be a PIB in asphalt. That appears rubbery and gets hard. If it is, it is not as old as you say. Use roof cement, but tell them it's time for a new roof, and they should not expect too much from the repair.>>>
