Roofscape look for my other post about the weather vain, it shows the build process. There is a thrust bearing on the top of the stainless rod. It would not need one but I was worried about the weight of it wearing through the copper cap on the top of the pole. The whole top with the copper ball spins. Grease only last so long. the building is at a golf coarse. It will be 60 ft up on a clock tower.

Nice job man. How does the vane turn? Are there bearings in the assembly on top of the rod? What an unusual design. What is the building being used for? A visitors center or something?

Yes the vent is built into the base. There will be a power fan inside pushing the air out. The whole structure is going to be lifted up, steel and all and set on top of that block tower. There will be observation windows all around and a Rolex clock just below the windows. It will be amazing if it stays in one piece until they lift it. The building was hit 3 times while we were working on it by a fork lift drivers hauling large steel beams. I just about lost my voice screaming at him to be more careful. The job site is very tight and this roof section was built here because thats were the crain operator needs it to lift it.
