We are a big supporter of Super pages, it helped build this business but I know it's not as much of an asset as it used to be.
This year in the white pages section we are listed different. Instead of being under our last name, we are listed under my Dad's first name AND his middle initial isn't there, which is very important because their was an imposter who went around installing BS work a few years back. We are also missing the middle initial in the business listings. All of the other roofers are listed by their last names.
So that was question 1 of how pissed should I be. Now on to #2.
As of two years ago, our phone company made us a second line w/ a Danny and our last names' Roofing. The book lists him in the yellow & white sections. It's all over the internet. I had two customer's call me Danny last year. It turns out that my folks have been paying for a 2nd line since 6/12 under the assumed name Danny X's roofing, although it doesn't say Danny anywhere on the bill. I'm not using my name because I don't want this to show up on google.
What do you think would be a fair resolution?
I did, the first two people I spoke w/ said I'd suffer a $250 penalty for early termination! I laughed. Then a manager offered 3 months. Now they are investigating the whole situation and are getting back to me. I'm more worried about the false roofing company now showing up all over the place when you search for our name.
As far as all my money back on the yellow pages ad, that's over $800 a month. I guess I'll just pitch a small bitch and see what happens. I hate to, but I pay too much for it not to be right. It's not their fault they listed the false roofing company, so that all falls back on the phone company.
r'oh well! Thanks for listening to my rant. :)
#2 should read that they never signed up for the second line. Nor do we know a Danny. It list's our address and the phone number goes to a disconnect.
