for help in counter acting the 5 easy steps- here are a couple helpfull sites 1) the fallacy files(http://www.fallacyfiles.org) 2) Critical thinking on the web( http://austhink/critical/ )
the fallacy files is especially fun-- particularly when "stalking the wild fallacy"- it's almost impossible to read a letter to the editor, a professionally written editorial, listen to any politician or see any expert- that doesn't involve 2-3 fallacies
Beware- spotting the wild fallacy can be an addictive little hobby. stephen
