Real easy way to spot is they are foreign and don't translate the request as it would be stated in english

OLE Willie

This was the 2nd time they sent me the exact same email within the last 2 weeks.

Flatbed, I also had someone send me a check like that at a time I really needed it. Part of me wanted to deposit it but I had that old nagging feeling that something wasn't right so I ended up just throwing it in the trash.

The guy calls me back a day or two later and I told him that I was on to his scam, not to call me anymore and hung up the phone.

Lo and behold, I check my email the next day and he's sent an email saying that I'm very wise to figure it all out and blah, blah, blah. He is now wanting me to become his partner in crime. Stating that we can make a lot of money together. Trying to use GREED to screw me over now.

I just erased the email and that was the end of it.

We almost got duped a few years ago selling a boom truck on craigslist. I've seen it a million times since then, but this was the first at that point. They agree to buy, send the check with enough to pay the shipping company. It was a cashiers check too. Not sure why the banks can't pickup on these things right away.

Anyhow, I smelled something and told my Dad to tell the guy he couldn't pick it up for three weeks after the check cleared. It bombed.

We hesitantly ended up selling the truck to a guy in Mexico(I'm in IL.) The only reason we went through with it was because of his patience. He knew that he looked similar to a scammer.

I get these about 1 every other week in a text. I texted the first time back to them telling them to call me in the morning. they never did and now I keep getting the same text with just different names in them.
