Yes, it's me Vickie and we just had a big one. Darn you GAK for bringing it up a few weeks ago. No phones but we never lost power. They automatically turn off all cell phones to keep lines open for emergencies too. But we can text. It's just like the movies, stuff everywhere, some broken glass, all the pictures askew. Kind of exciting but my legs are still shaking. 2 aftershocks already. I am sleeping downstairs in the guest room with my Shoes on! Got all the flashlights out. Hope it's over soon. They are evacuating our Police Department from water damage.
We are very lucky!
Busted water main and broken windows and ceiling tiles everywhere at city hall and police station. La Brea Tar Pits is way east of the earthquake and it's still open air, it's just not a large area, just a big pond of goo. The tar actually smells like an asphalt hot roof. If you ever come to California I will take you there!
Glad your okay Vickie.
I wonder how far up it was felt. Friday night, just north of Jenner, just north of the mouth of the Russian River, there was a big landslide off a point into the ocean. Never seen nothing like it before, so it was kinda cool for me.
