What is easiest way to shine up old copper roofing (bay window)

There's a little cupola near here that was covered with a clear coating years ago when it was new. Damned thing looks eternally fake. Kind of like a very very old wrinkled up person with a set of absolutely flawless teeth. You have to pay extra for green. :woohoo:

Yeah, what do they call it? A patina? All that elbow grease and then the patina will come right back.

How old is the copper? Is it green? If it is it will take a lot of elbow grease. The green is actually a good thing. It protects the copper from the environment.
