Best underlayment choice for low-slope asphalt shingle roof?

Hey everyone, I’m working on a residential project with a roof pitch around 2:12–3:12, and I’m trying to decide on the most reliable underlayment to use beneath asphalt shingles. I know standard felt isn’t always ideal for lower slopes, so I’m considering synthetic underlayment or possibly a self-adhered membrane for better water protection.

For those of you who’ve handled similar projects, what’s been your go-to solution in terms of durability and long-term performance? Have you noticed a significant difference when using peel-and-stick products versus high-quality synthetics in these conditions? Appreciate any real-world insights or product recommendations. geometry vibes
