Allstate question

Anyone know what is up with Allstate pricing? I had a claim with them and they are trying to pay me less this year then last year. They claim to be using Xactimate but pricing looks worse than MSB they used last year. My claim says they used ININ7X-Mar11 to figure pricing.

I wrote an estimate to do the work but my estimate was higher than the adjuster, he seems to think $169 is way too much for 3 tab comps and labor install. So now I have to meet him and homeowner.

I have Allstate insurance and have had it for 25 years and am claim free......but I am seriously starting to think a change is in my future. Anyone have a printout for Xactimate 3 tab - 25 year comp - incl. felt?? I would appreciate if you could forward me a copy to SSRB87@yahoo.com

Thanks!

Sounds reasonable. You got the job at a price you could agree on. When you shop equipment or other things for your business or personnel items. You shop quality at a fair price if your smart. Same here. B) :) :) B) Deep Down In Florida Where The Sun Shines Damn Near Every Day

Tinner, Yeah, and that was the problem with AllState, they didn't like the prices I plugged in. I had to use XMate just to get them to come up on their offer.

Randy, you're supposed to put your own pricing into those estimating programs. Reference: Xactware publishes prices as close to the mid-point of the market as possible. As a result, generally half of the providers in each market will be priced higher, and half lower than the cost shown here. Due to the structure at which different roofing companies operate (traditional sub-contractors vs. roofing sales organizations) roofing costs quoted by local providers can cover a very broad / large range of prices.

I got this one resolved......but I still got kinda screwed. He wouldn't pay the same as State Farm, but he paid enough. Would only allow 5% waste. They refused O&P.....small job so wasn't really worth fighting over.

CIAK, I can get it signed. I presented a contract proposal to the homeowner and it was $9900 and this customers insurance allowed him $8400, so he sent Allstate my proposal to see if they would approve and they denied it and requested I meet with the adjuster & homeowner.

They gave me $148 for re-flashing each limestone chimney but I charge $300 for them. And I charged the same for 3 tab - 25 year comps that I do with State Farm and others, which was about $25 per sq more than he allowed. Plus he shorted me about 2 squares.

Should I get the homeowner to sign a contract before I meet with this adjuster?

Thanks! Randy

PS. I have never had a problem with Allstate on my own home or vehicles.....but I have never had a claim either. I did see my policy now states all costs figured using MS/B...and that concerned me. I like XMate.

@#$%&! *#%&^$@#@! and &^+%$# #$ +^$##@!

-That's how I feel about Allstate. Will NEVER deal with again! I had a 5 yr. renewable Life Ins. policy with them for about 15 - 20 yrs. It came time for renewal in Dec. 2010. Since I turned 50, rates went throught the roof. Found a lot cheaper policy with State Farm and canceled with Allstate in Nov. well in advance of the renewal date.

The Allstate payments had been by Direct Withdraw out of my checking account. Well, Allstate took out during Dec. Called my Ins. agent (who I gave cancellation notice to), and gave me 'headquater's' Ph #. I called and they 'cancelled' my account and would look into reimbursing me for Dec. Jan. came around and those &*%^$%#$%% idiots took out of my account AGAIN! I went to my bank and told them my situation and promptly had me fill out a 'return of funds' paperwork and got my $$ back. I called Allstate 4 times in Jan. alone to get them 'out of my checking account', and still got a letter in March from 'Accounting' about 'delinquent funds'. Called the Ph# and had to lay out the whole situation AGAIN to them. After a few days, they called back and said the account is CLOSED! Haven't heard from them since.

Do you have a signed contract with the H/O ? ININ7X is a new pricing code for Xactimate in Indiana. Any other pricing will be for another zip code and will be different. If you leave Allstate for this reason then you have already left or your just blowing smoke. Hate to see you leave B) :) :) B) Deep Down In Florida Where The Sun Shines Damn Near Every Day
