Duro-Last was sustainable before it was cool. Our always-innovating founder, John R Burt, launched our recycling efforts in 1989 with the development of a proprietary rooftop walkway pad — our first step in reimagining aging PVC roofs.
Today, we remain committed to waste reduction and circularity at every level — from manufacturing and facility operations to helping contractors minimize jobsite waste through our Recycle Your Roof program. To date, we’ve recycled more than 100 million pounds of pre- and post-consumer PVC roofing material, with a goal to upcycle 1 million pounds of post-consumer material annually by 2028.
