Transportation and Construction GIRL
Transportation & Construction GIRL is Colorado's largest transportation and construction career awareness initiative for girls, connecting nearly 2,000 participants each year with more than 100 industry partners through immersive, hands-on experiences that expand career awareness, challenge stereotypes and strengthen Colorado's future infrastructure workforce pipeline. To date, over 6,750 girls have participated in TCG programs, all of whom are now better equipped to pursue careers in these high-demand industries, contributing to the workforce in ways that directly address the shortage of skilled talent.
Filling the workforce gap
The construction and transportation industries face a growing demand for skilled workers, and TCG is here to fill that gap. By recruiting, nurturing and retaining more women in these fields, we’re helping address the talent shortage while providing young women with the opportunity to build stable, rewarding careers. Through hands-on experiences, mentorship and industry connections, we prepare the next generation of female leaders who will shape the future of transportation and construction.
In 2025, we proudly hosted 2,000 young women at Transportation & Construction GIRL Day, making it the largest event for girls in Colorado. With 68 interactive exhibits from top companies in transportation and construction, girls gained real-world insights into the many career paths available and connected with leading industry mentors.
