What is SeedRegion1?

Born out of the need to attract big businesses to the Tampa Bay Region, SeedRegion1 is an organization whose mission is to serve its own community wholly from the ground up. Initially aimed at showcasing local talent to lure large corporations, the organization quickly realized that this talent pool could be a crucial resource for existing businesses and educational institutions within the region.

The platform isn't just a theoretical approach to community building; it's practical. It serves as a hub for makers spaces, co-working spaces and educational facilities that support entrepreneurship and small business development. With small businesses making up more than 90% of the local economy, SeedRegion1's emphasis on nurturing startups and promoting entrepreneurial ventures is timely and essential.

Their motto: “Keep MAKING. Keep DOING. Keep making a DIFFERENCE with WHAT you are doing!” The platform is intended to serve as a model for future "Seed Regions” throughout the country. But, for now Tampa Bay will always be the original, the SeedRegion1, setting an example for other communities to foster their own internal growth.

How Can I Get Involved?

A simple Google search can help you find Maker Spaces near you. Colleges and universities are a great place to start too as they have programs in place for maker spaces.

SeedRegion1 is the original Tampa location but the goal is to expand the network to SeedRegion2 and so on.
