Our building science services assist clients with architectural backgrounds and forensic investigations in evaluating the performance of building envelope elements, such as walls and roofs, in their environmental contexts. We assess condensation issues in existing structures and predict potential problems in new designs. Leveraging our team's extensive experience and software tools like WUFI, we analyze the physical properties of various envelope assemblies to evaluate their behavior.

Inspections and assessments
We evaluate existing leaks and construction defects by reviewing historical information on projects and conducting field tests to recreate the alleged problems. If necessary, we deconstruct the building elements to identify and isolate their root cause. Our inspections follow industry standards such as AAMA 511 for forensic water testing of fenestration, ASTM E 2128 for evaluating water leaks in walls and ASTM D 7877 for the integrity of roofing and waterproofing membranes, ensuring our findings are reliable and can be replicated by other investigators. Based on our assessments, we provide repair recommendations when requested.
