The Proof is in the Roof
The experts at Georgia-Pacific share recent survey data on how roofing cover boards can help extend the life of a roof. The RLW features results from a third-party survey where data was collected from an FMI Roof Cover Board Survey in May, 2020. The survey found that the use of a cover board helped extend the lifespan and lower annual operations and maintenance (O&M) costs for single-ply membrane roofs. With GP’s most recent launch of DensDeck® StormX™ Prime Roof Board, the first high-performance gypsum cover board to gain FM approval in single-ply very severe hail systems with 60 mil bareback membrane, the survey responses support the need for cover boards under single-ply membranes for long-term, resilient roofs.
