Launching a Career as a Building Enclosure Consultant

There are numerous career opportunities in the building enclosure industry for students studying architecture, engineering, and building science. Building enclosure consultants provide a variety of services during a project such as problem solving, investigations, owner representation, or design related to energy efficiency and sustainability. This presentation will introduce participants to a variety of jobs and projects that members of the International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants (IIBEC) have participated in as building enclosure consultants. Finally, the panel will present an overview of career possibilities available in the building enclosure consulting industry.
Objectives:
- Overview of careers available in the building enclosure industry.
- Understand the role IIBEC plays in development for emerging professionals.
- Identify how to use an architecture, engineering, or building science degree to launch a career in the building enclosure industry.
