We Can All Rally Around the Kane Family, Funds Matched Dollar for Dollar

NERCA- Kane Roofing Company
February 10, 2019 at 4:04 p.m.

NERCA encourages support for the family of Mike Kane to offset medical bills.

As you may know, Mike Kane ( Kane Roofing Company) and most recently was the general manager of Eagle Rivet Roof Services, passed away unexpectedly last July. Unfortunately, during his illness, he ran up a lot of bills in the last few months of his life. His family needs our help.

Ted Boylan and Jim Trask have agreed to match dollar for dollar all donations up to $20,000.00 to get Mike’s family $40,000.00 they desperately need to help with their finances. Please dig deep and help us reach our goal.

Michael was known to many as a fiercely protective father, a devoted husband, a trusted friend, and a longtime colleague over the summer. On July 2, 2018, Michael Brian Kane, Sr. received an unexpected call to pass through the pearly gates. While there is no doubt Michael has reunited with many of the friends and family who he had been missing, it is his wife of 32 years, Linda, and their children, Rebecca, Erica, Michael, Wesley, and Mikaela, who all viewed Michael Sr. as their hero, who are missing him most now.

For over 30 years, Michael and Linda worked together running a roofing company to provide for their family and give their children a future full of opportunities. In a true testament to Michael’s work ethic, the day after he suffered a heart attack in 2016, he requested his children bring his laptop to the hospital. He wanted to be able to maintain contact with his customers and stay up to date with work, even from his hospital bed.

From a distance, Michael seemed like a tough guy, but for those who were lucky enough to know him on a more personal level, he never shied away from opening his heart up, giving advice and helping others through their toughest days. Michael was also known for his loyalty and supportive nature to friends, colleagues and family alike.

It is our hope we can all rally around the Kane family in their time of need. No amount is too small as the Kane family is grateful for anything the community is able to contribute.
