Thank You For Another Successful Year for RCASoCal!

New leadership, professional growth and charitable donations were just a few of the highlights.

2019 was another great year for our association under the new leadership of President Ron Malekow (Howard Roofing Co., Inc.), who took the reins as RCASoCal President from Steve Lang (Lang Roofing) after Steve’s many years of service to our association in that capacity.

Our Priority: Your Professional Growth 

Though leadership changed, our mission, as always, stayed the same: to raise the level of professionalism of the Southern California Roofing Industry by keeping our members well-informed. With this mission in mind, we provided three valuable membership meetings this year: In January, we focused on fall protection with presenters from Roofmaster; in April, we explored mechanic’s liens/stop payment notices and payment bonds; and in July we heard from CSLB about licensing requirements and enforcement.

Record-Setting Year for Scholarships 

In 2019 we awarded more in scholarships than we ever had in the long history of our association! With your support of both our 30th Annual Jim Nienow Golf Tournament and our 1st Annual RCASoCal Clay Shoot, we raised $38,500 in scholarships and awarded 19 recipients! Thank you for your support of these important fundraisers! In the coming year, we will provide features on our recent scholarship recipients.

Toasting the Season with RCASoCal 

We ended the year with our Annual Christmas Party on December 4 where members and colleagues mixed and mingled as we closed out another great year. We also held a toy drive for CHOC Children’s!

It’s All Because of You

Without your membership and sponsorship, none of what RCASoCal accomplished this year would have been possible! We know you hear it all the time, but we will say it again: Thank you for being a member of the Roofing Contractors Association of Southern California. We look forward to continuing to serve the Southern California roofing industry in what will be another productive year ahead.
