Showcasing standout synthetic roofing work

By Jesse Sanchez.

Celebrating contractors whose projects pair high-end design with complex detailing and performance-driven roofing systems.

Brava Roof Tile is putting its network of Preferred Contractors in the spotlight with the 2025 BRAVA Excellence Awards, a program highlighting intricate, design-forward installations across residential estates, mountain retreats and coastal properties. The latest awards cycle drew a deep pool of project submissions that represent both aesthetic ambition and technical execution. As Brava notes, “With nearly 80 submissions this year, we received some of the most stunning and skillfully executed project images to date.” The portfolio reflects how contractors are leveraging composite shake, slate and Spanish barrel tile to solve design challenges, address climate risks and deliver premium curb appeal for discerning clients.

Each entry is positioned as a case study in both craft and material performance. “This spectacular mountain estate roof replacement features 136 squares of Brava Synthetic Shake in color Natural Cedar with a premium underlayment system and complete copper accent package including copper valleys, step flashing, drip edge and snow guards,” Brava says of a Cedar Shake: Natural installation that required crews to work through multi-level roof planes, intricate valley systems, multiple stone chimneys and curved elements. Brava adds, “The installation demonstrates exceptional craftsmanship through its navigation of complex architectural elements including multi-level roof planes, intricate valley systems, multiple stone chimneys and curved elements that demanded expert installation techniques.”

In another highlighted Cedar Shake: Aged Cedar submission, a mountain valley home becomes a showcase for climate-conscious design as well as craftsmanship. Brava reports, “This stunning mountain valley home showcases 85 squares of Aged Cedar Brava Synthetic Shake complimented with a premium underlayment system.” The system is designed to perform in an exposed environment, where, as Brava notes, “The authentic cedar shake appearance harmonizes beautifully with the natural mountain landscape while providing superior fire resistance and wind protection essential for this exposed mountain valley location.” According to Brava, “This roof replacement transformed the home's architectural presence, creating a sophisticated mountain retreat that seamlessly blends with the rugged Wyoming terrain.”

Coastal and multifamily work is also featured in this year’s awarded projects. On a post-hurricane reroof at Paradiso Condominiums, FL Specialty Roofing replaced damaged clay tile with Brava Spanish tile and integrated a TPO recovery on the flat roof. Brava calls the completed system “a hurricane-resistant roofing system that elevates both performance and curb appeal,” and notes the additional complexity created by standalone eyebrow roofs that require elevated safety planning and meticulous detailing.

For roofing contractors and specifiers, the 2025 BRAVA Excellence Awards function as a curated gallery of how synthetic shake, slate and tile can be deployed on steep-slope custom homes, resort properties and coastal communities while addressing fire resistance, wind performance and long-term maintenance expectations.
