Roofing Contractors Association of Southern California announces passing of Steve Anderson.

AUG - MEM - RCASoCal -Roofing Contractors Association of Southern California announces passing of Steve Anderson
August 25, 2018 at 12:25 p.m.

Steve Anderson was the former owner of Modern Materials in the Los Angeles/Orange County area.

August 28, 1932 - July 14, 2018 Steve's life was defined by generosity, big heartedness, love for his family, friends, USC football (USC alumnus) and as a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, his country. Never one to be on time he always made a grand entrance and never failed to fill the setting with his larger than life personality. He was committed to having fun and truly hated to see any party come to an end.

At the age of thirty he took over his father's building materials company and ran the operation for the next 27 years. During those years he was very generous with those he worked with and helped guide them in their careers. As a recovering alcoholic with 30-plus years of sobriety he both inspired and mentored many others. He set a living example of the courage to change and his generosity of spirit and giving set a very high bar.

As his condition declined in recent years he became more emotionally perceptive. In other words he became a guy with " his heart on his sleeve." Without question he would want to be remembered for the love he felt for all those special souls who traveled with him during his amazing journey. Steve leaves behind Ginny, his wife of 28 years, his sister Carla Hills, seven children, eighteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren with one more on the way.
