Roofer profile: Marco Lujan, Revelation Roofing LLC

RMSG Marco Lujan

By Rocky Mountain Snow Guards.

Experienced roofer, Marco Lujan, answers questions about snow retention systems for his roofing projects.

Marco Lujan, service director of Revelation Roofing, has experience in both steep slope shingles and metal roofs, plus low slope EPDM roofs. His company is dedicated to serving mountain communities with a focus on detail, relationships and superior work. Based in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, this team deals extensively with snow retention systems for their projects.

Q: Tell us about the geography you install roofing in and what kind of snow retention systems are needed for your customers.

A: Our region is characterized by very heavy snowfall, especially notable during the winter of 2022-2023. In this single season records were broken with over 400 inches of snow. This significant snowfall presents unique challenges and considerations for roofing, particularly in terms of snow retention systems to manage the heavy accumulation effectively.

Q: What type of roofing material do you tend to install most, and what’s your favorite “go to” snow retention products that you use repeatedly with that material?

A:

  • Standing Seam roofs with Blizzard II, Blizzard II HD snow retention system
  • Pro-panel II with S-5! ® and RG5 snow guards
  • Asphalt shingles with No Flash II 2-Pipe Fence-Style Snow Guard System, and RG5 and RG7 snow guards
  • Flat roofs with Single Ply II 2-Pipe Fence-Style Snow Guard System

Q: What’s the most challenging/interesting roofing project you’ve ever done where a snow retention system was involved?

A: Definitely the Nutzman residence. Located in the heart of Steamboat Springs, this beautiful duplex house faced significant challenges due to heavy snow and ice accumulation on its North-West roof section, resulting in roof avalanches and damaged shingles.

Despite multiple attempts by other roofing companies to mitigate the snow-related issues, Revelation Roofing and Rocky Mountain Snow Guards found the most effective solution for their needs. After installing a full row of No-Flash II snow fence and reinforcing it with numerous RG5 snow guards, the homeowner felt much more at ease without the worry of potential damages from heavy snow loads falling from the roof.

Q: How often do you use the free architectural snow retention plan from Rocky Mountain Snow Guards when you’re working on a roofing project? Why are you using this service?

A: Every time, for every project. It brings peace of mind to us and our installers knowing that every time we install snow retention systems on our customers' roofs, we're following expert specifications from Rocky Mountain Snow Guards.

Q: What keeps your company coming back to Rocky Mountain Snow Guards for your snow retention needs?

A: Revelation Roofing keeps coming back to Rocky Mountain Snow Guards for our snow retention needs because they provide top-quality products and great support. Their expertise, reliability and excellent customer service make them a trusted partner for us.
