GAF partners with Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake to support 27-unit home build in Baltimore

GAF Partners with Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake to Support 27-Unit Home Build in Baltimore
October 15, 2025 at 7:00 p.m.

GAF is committed to the Baltimore community and in 2025 alone has donated enough material to roof dozens of homes in the greater Baltimore area, hosted skills training and job fairs for community members and supported beautification projects in local public spaces.

Employees from GAF’s Baltimore plant recently volunteered with Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake on a large-scale project at Orchard Ridge in Baltimore. GAF is North America’s largest roofing and waterproofing manufacturer with 30 manufacturing locations across the country, including Baltimore. As part of the build, GAF employees worked on painting, flooring and trim for five houses within the 27-unit home-build project, four of which are home to Habitat partner families.

In addition to volunteering, GAF is donating roofs for all 27 homes, further supporting Habitat’s mission to build affordable housing and strengthen communities. Employees worked alongside Habitat construction staff, AmeriCorps members and future homeowners to help bring the homes one step closer to completion.

“At GAF, we believe in building resilience in the communities we call home both through the products we make and through hands-on support,” said Jeff Terry, vp corporate social responsibility & sustainability, GAF. “We’re proud to work with Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake to create safe, affordable housing for Baltimore families and we’re grateful to our team members who continue to bring their passion and energy to supporting these projects.”

“Partnerships like GAF make it possible for us to not only build homes, but to build brighter futures for families in Baltimore,” said Mike Posko, ceo of Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake. “With GAF’s generous roof donation and the hands-on support of their local team, we are helping families achieve the stability and security that comes with safe, affordable housing.”

GAF is committed to the Baltimore community and in 2025 alone has donated enough material to roof dozens of homes in the greater Baltimore area, hosted skills training and job fairs for community members and supported beautification projects in local public spaces. This effort is part of GAF’s social impact initiative, GAF Community Matters, which is focused on making a positive difference as neighbors and partners in the community by leveraging roofing expertise, resources and products to help build resilient communities.
