GAF Myerstown plant celebrates 25th anniversary with local residents

Over the past 25 years, the GAF Myerstown facility has become a cornerstone of the local economy and community, employing more than 160 individuals from across the area.

GAF, North America’s largest roofing and waterproofing manufacturer, recently celebrated the 25th anniversary of its Myerstown, Pennsylvania plant. To mark this milestone, GAF employees gathered with local residents, family and friends at the GAF Myerstown facility for a celebratory event which featured activities for the whole family including barbeque from local Lancaster’s County vendors, face painting and an interactive shingle activity from GAF’s CARE team.

“We are proud to have been a part of the Myerstown community for 25 years and we sincerely appreciate everyone who joined us to celebrate this special milestone,” said Johan Alexandersson, plant manager at GAF-Myerstown. “As we look ahead, we remain committed to producing the high-quality roofing products that support this region and being a strong, supportive neighbor and partner, continuing to be a good neighbor, making a positive difference that helps Myerstown thrive.” 

Over the past 25 years, the GAF Myerstown facility has become a cornerstone of the local economy and community, employing more than 160 individuals from across the area and supporting numerous community initiatives through its GAF Community Matters initiative. Most recently, GAF-Myerstown partnered with the Myerstown Borough, bringing colorful and protective pavement coatings to help revitalize the Myerstown Recreation Area. This project helped improve the resilience of the beloved community space by applying StreetBond pavement coatings to enhance, protect and preserve several recreational spaces for residents to enjoy. 

The GAF-Myerstown facility, which opened in 2000, produces GAF’s market-leading residential roofing products, including Timberline HDZ®, GAF’s #1-selling shingle. The team at Myerstown produces enough roofing materials each year to protect the homes of more than 200,000 families across the region.
