GAF’s global headquarters located in Parsippany, New Jersey, was profiled in the July-August issue of the U. S. Green Building Council (USGBC) USGBC+ Magazine as a building that is transforming our environment.
After experiencing the disruption and cost associated with extreme weather events first-hand, following Superstorm Sandy and Hurricane Irene, GAF prioritized continuous operations and emergency preparedness.
They employed resilience strategies that led to the building becoming Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified. It features a roof system that exceeds FEMA wind speeds, essentially future-proofing a critical component of the building envelope.
