ABC Supply is Dedicated to Supporting Homes For Our Troops

The company supports the charity year-round, but in the month of May, ABC Supply supports the cause in a special way.

In a recent episode of Coffee Conversations, Heidi J. Ellsworth sat down with Tom Landwermeyer, the president and CEO of Homes For Our Troops (HFOT), to discuss the foundation and the involvement of a dedicated business to the roofing industry, ABC Supply.

Homes For Our Troops is a nonprofit organization dedicated to building custom homes and donating to injured post-9/11 veterans across the country as a way to help them and their families rebuild their lives. Tom shared, “We're now up to 355 homes donated across the country. Since last year, we've actually gone to 45 states that we built in now, we added three in the past year. We added Alaska, Maine and Nebraska. And over the next two years, we'll be adding New Mexico and Wyoming to the crowd as well. So, within a couple years we will have built in 47 states.”

Tom continued, “The homes themselves are about 2,800 square feet with four bedrooms and two baths. They have more than 40 special adaptations designed into each one of them designed specifically to restore the freedom and independence that these veterans sacrificed for us down range. And it allows them to do some great things as we go forward.”

ABC Supply deeply aligns with the organization, as American Pride and Giving Back to the community are two of their core values. While ABC Supply is a loyal supporter of Homes For Our Troops all year long, the month of May is special. In this year’s Indianapolis 500 race, there was a special HFOT-themed Indy Car dedicated to the cause as well as a special donation pledge to match up to one million dollars to help HFOT continue to give veterans the homes they deserve.
