Join your industry peers and leaders for two days of learning, networking and more!

The Metal Construction Association (MCA) is hosting their Summer Meeting from June 23-24 in Rosemont, Illinois. Sponsored by ATAS International and Carlisle Construction Materials, this two-day event is packed with education opportunities, high-value networking and industry insights! Whether you are a business leader, a technical professional, an emerging leader or a marketing/sales specialist, this meeting will help you stay ahead of the competition.

What you can expect

At this year’s meeting, there will be a variety of industry experts sharing real-world strategies to help professionals navigate everything from the global economy to local policy and regulatory developments. One of these leaders is Johnny Quinn, who will be delivering his keynote, Unstoppable Momentum, at 8:45 a.m. on Tuesday, June 23.

This year also introduces a new dual-track education program! This program allows contractors to “choose the sessions that fit [their] role — with content for business leaders and technical staff running at the same time as sessions designed for marketing and sales.”

One of the sessions that is a part of this new program is hosted by The Coffee Shops™ own Karen Edwards! Karen will be moderating a panel about marketing trends that can be leveraged by professionals to diversify their businesses. There will also be sessions from Bob Zabcik and Paul Trombitas! Bob, who is MCA’s technical director, will give a codes and standards report while Paul will share about MCA’s exclusive market study.

And as always, there will be ample opportunity at breaks, meals and events to build relationships with peers and experts across the industry. This is a great way to build relationships and spark new ideas in relaxed settings like the Chicago Dogs versus Cleburne Railroaders baseball game ($25 additional fee at registration).

The logistics

The meeting will be held at the Hilton Rosemont/O’Hare, conveniently just minutes from the O’Hare International Airport. Attendees should make sure to reserve their hotel room by Friday, May 29, 2026.

MCA also has a unique deal for professionals who register multiple members of their team! You can save 15% per person when you register more than one person from your company with code SUMMER26. Not only is this a great deal, but having multiple members of your company in attendance allows you to take full advantage of the dual-track sessions and get takeaways from the meeting that benefit your entire organization.

ATAS International leader Jim Bus shares how the leading manufacturer is setting high ambitions for expansion in the year ahead.

At the International Roofing Expo, Megan Ellsworth spoke with Jim Bus, executive vice president of ATAS International, about the company’s past year and what the leading manufacturer has in store for 2026.

In reflecting upon 2025, Jim spoke of the impact of economic uncertainty as well as company wins. “2025 was a little soft. I think that's been normal for everybody,” Jim shared, noting the impact of tariffs on the industry. “Tariffs are certainly affecting the price of metal, and typically, steel pricing goes up and down with it.”

This time has been an opportunity for ATAS to focus on customer feedback and strive for greater customer satisfaction. “When you're running a full boat, sometimes you don't listen to your customers well enough,” Jim stated. “That's what we're doing now. We're happy but not satisfied.”

One example of ATAS’s continuous push toward growth was last year’s acquisition of Metalwërks in Maryland. “It has opened new doors, not only for the typical ATAS product line but also for the Metalwërks product line, because they’re now marketing our products,” Jim said. “We complement each other on projects. It's very exciting.”

ATAS has more excitement on the horizon. “We're all bullish on 2026,” said Jim, expressing optimism for growth in the year ahead. “We have seven locations. We continue to expand, bring in new machinery, new product lines and open new markets. That's what we do: we grow.”

ATAS International has named Andrew Seigel, CSI, Mark Oyer and Angel Colon as the 2025 recipients of the annual Malan S. Parker Award, which recognizes the top ATAS sales professionals each year. Malan S. “Steve” Parker was an exemplary ATAS product representative in the New England territory, and he passed away in 2002. Since then, to honor his hard work and dedication to ATAS, the sales team of the year award is now known as the Malan S. Parker Award. Seigel, Oyer and Colon were chosen as the 2025 winners for their teamwork in overall sales growth and observance of corporate goals and objectives.

Andrew Seigel is the ATAS product representative for Michigan, and parts of Indiana and Ohio, and it’s the first year he has won this award. He has been with ATAS for over two years and has a total of over nine years of experience in building products sales. Seigel has a bachelor of business administration degree in business management and entertainment, sport and promotion management. He lives in Edwardsburg, Michigan with his wife, Arin, and his three daughters, Kayla, Kyliee and Madelyn. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends and especially enjoys being out on their boat creating memories on the lake.

A first time ATAS Sales Team of the Year winner, Mark Oyer is an inside technical salesperson at ATAS and has been there for over two years. He provided support to Seigel within the territory, from June through December of 2025. Oyer lives in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania with his wife of 39 years, Wendy and they have one daughter, Alex. When not working, he enjoys spending time with his family, working in his yard and koi ponds and watching hockey, football and Formula 1 racing.

Angel Colon is also an inside technical salesperson at ATAS who provided support to Seigel within the territory, from January through May of 2025, and it’s also the first time he has won this award. He’s been with ATAS for two years and currently resides in Saylorsburg, Pennsylvania. Previously, Colon worked in the pharmaceutical industry, specializing in building clean rooms and renovating warehouses to meet Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards.

“Andrew is extremely proactive and has excelled in his role since coming on board in January 2024. His success comes from combining high level product knowledge, strong customer relationships and a commitment to results,” stated Dave Willard, ATAS’ midwest district sales manager. “The team of Andrew, Mark and Angel not only delivers solid sales performance but also represents our company with professionalism and a team-first attitude. Their dedication, work ethic and overall goal to create long-term value for both our customers and our organization make them truly deserving of the Sales Team of the Year award.”

            style=' '  loading='lazy' />

The expanded thickness range addresses increasing market demand for heavier-gauge, prefinished metal materials that combine durability and aesthetic versatility.

ATAS International, a leading manufacturer of premier metal roofing, wall panels, ceilings and accessories, announces the expansion of its offering of prepainted aluminum flat sheets and coils to include thicknesses up to .118 inches. This strategic enhancement provides architects, fabricators and contractors with greater design flexibility and structural performance for demanding applications.

The expanded thickness range addresses increasing market demand for heavier-gauge, prefinished metal materials that combine durability and aesthetic versatility. By offering prepainted flat sheet and coil in gauges up to .118-inch thickness, ATAS enables customers to achieve enhanced impact resistance, improved load capacity and long-term performance, while maintaining the benefits of factory-applied finishes. These finishes result in consistent, high-quality coatings, which ensure color retention, durability and corrosion resistance.

“Design professionals are pushing the boundaries of what metal can do in the building envelope,” said Jim Bush, vice president of sales and marketing with ATAS. “By expanding our prepainted aluminum flat sheet and coil offering to thicker gauges, we are providing the market with high-performance material options that meet structural demands without sacrificing finish quality or visual appeal.”

The expanded product line includes a total of eight aluminum thicknesses, starting at .032 all the way up to .118. The addition of .080, .090, .100 and .118-inch thick prepainted aluminum supports the growing use of metal in high-performance building envelopes, where strength, longevity and sustainability are critical. Thicker prepainted material options also allow for greater customization in formed profiles, brake shapes and specialty architectural components.
