Do you have big plans for New Year’s Eve?
Whether you’re gathering with a small group of friends or going out for a big night on the town, it’s important to end the year off safe. Statically speaking, nearly half of all car accidents on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day are due to drinking and driving. Follow these simple tips to stay safe.
If You Drink Don’t Drive:
Find yourself a designated driver (DD), use a simple app-based ride service like Lyft, Uber, or the good old standby a cab. There will be a lot of folks driving under the influence this night, don’t use or drive a car if you can avoid it.
Know Your Limits:
If you decide to drink, Eat first, and snack throughout the evening. It’s a good idea to keep track of your alcohol intake and those around you. It’s supposed to be a fun night, but an overly Inebriated individual can become a party pooper really quick.
Go in Groups:
While venturing out stay in groups so you can look out for your friends and family. Having a safety net in an unfamiliar environment is extremely important as there are many predators that look to take advantage of solo fun-seekers.
Follow these safety tips and have a fun New Year’s Eve, no matter how you are celebrating. It's not a good time if someone gets hurt.
Happy New Year!
