In the roofing industry, the center of our focus is not materials, warranties, testing or assemblies, but the actual architectural roofing specifications. A roofing specification is to make sure that the roof assembly will meet the minimum criteria of the building code based on performance and quality, which in turn should protect health and safety of the populace and environment. As such, it is important to have an understanding of what a typical roofing specification contains in relation to the building code, its criteria and the changes. This course will break down a standard “master” spec and how to achieve and present a clear picture of the goal of the installation to avoid conflicts between; building code, roofing specification & installation. The 100-300 level classes should be used as prerequisites to this seminar and an advanced knowledge of roofing systems, applications and system warranties will be essential.
